Light rail service runs from Hunt Valley, in Baltimore County, through Baltimore City, and finally terminates in Glen Burnie in Anne Arundel County. With stops at Baltimore's Penn Station and BWI Airport, the light rail not only takes passengers all over Maryland, but also helps them travel across the globe.

The BWI line takes passengers from the Linthicum Station in Anne Arundel County directly to the international terminal. The BWI Airport extension also includes a stop in the BWI Business District.

The line to Penn Station takes passengers directly to the platform level. It also includes stops on Warren Road, Gilroy Road, McCormick Road, Pepper Road and Hunt Valley Mall.

The Central Line of the light rail, with approximately 20,000 passengers daily, includes 32 stations, with stops in Timonium, Lutherville, Falls Road, Mt. Washington, North Avenue, Lexington Market, University Center on Baltimore Street, Camden Yards, Patapsco, Linthicum and Cromwell Station, Glen Burnie.

The light rail may not be the best option for those in a hurry: Trains arrive every 17 minutes at the stops between Hunt Valley and Glen Burnie and every 34 minutes to the BWI and Penn Station extensions. For those who need to connect to other areas in Baltimore City or County, the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) sells daily, weekly and monthly passes that allow access to the light rail, the metro and the bus system.--Kari Rosenthal
