Mount Pleasant GC ranked 12th
Mount Pleasant Golf Course in Baltimore has been ranked the 12th-best municipal facility in the country by Golfweek magazine.
According to a spokesman for the Baltimore Municipal Golf Corporation, the ranking was the first of its kind and done in conjunction with the U.S. Open.
Torrey Pines South in San Diego, which hosted the Open, finished fifth. Bethpage State Park Black Course, the first public facility to host the Open and the site of next year's event, was first.
Mount Pleasant is a 74-year-old course that hosted PGA Tour events in the 1950s and early 1960s.
