I was flabbergasted to read the defense of President Donald Trump by Ray McGovern and William Binney ("Trumped-up claims against Trump," May 17). What misguided attempt to show "balance" prompted The Sun to run it? The mere use of the words "Deep State" should have disqualified the piece from publication in a legitimate newspaper.
With the very essence of the United States at stake, why would you run such a commentary? People look to The Sun for legitimate points of view, not the fact-denying conspiracy theories provided by Alex Jones, Fox News and their friends. I truly feel as if I was socked in the face.
