Top 5 Prince moments

Prince provided fans with epic performances, head-scratching personal protests and a soundtrack for every emotion, both carnal and spiritual, over a career that spanned four decades.

As the world mourns a true rock/funk/R&B icon (pick any genre and he owned it) upon news that the 57-year-old was found dead Thursday morning at his Paisley Park estate in Chanhassen, Minnesota, outside Minneapolis, we look back at the moments that defined him.

1. Prince's rain-soaked Super Bowl XLI halftime show on Feb. 5, 2007 when the Chicago Bears played the Indianapolis Colts. (Click here for the full performance)

2. Prince's film debut in "Purple Rain" in 1984.

3. Prince paying tribute to George Harrison at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in 2004 along with Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, Steve Winwood and Dhani Harrison.
