Tamara is a senior writer covering science and the environment in Hampton Roads. Previously, she was a metro columnist with the East Valley Tribune in Mesa, Ariz. In a career spanning 20 years, she has won numerous journalism awards for news, feature and column writing. She has been a city reporter, features editor and writer, and Sunday editor. She was born in Germany and raised in western Maryland, and holds a bachelor of arts in English/creative writing from the University of New Mexico.
