It's in Gloucester's budget: $75,000 for historic area improvements

Gloucester's fiscal year 2017 budget includes $75,000 for historic area improvements. The amount was approved as a part of the county's updated Capital Improvement Plan.

The improvements will include work on the court circle buildings and development at the Tucker store site off Main Street. The improvements also include the design of a new visitors center, plans for accessibility and landscaping, and rehabilitation work on the old jail.

The cost estimate includes $10,000 for design and engineering and $65,000 for construction and equipment.
