It's in Gloucester's budget: $50,000 for the Old Page master plan study

The site of the old Page Middle School could have a variety of potential uses, according to county officials.

The property, on George Washington Memorial Highway near the intersection of T.C. Walker Road, is home to the school division's bus garage. The old middle school was torn down after a tornado damaged it in April 2011.

Gloucester County included $50,000 in its fiscal year 2017 budget for a master plan study for the site. The amount was approved as a part of the county's updated Capital Improvement Plan.

According to Stephanie Tinsley, the county's director of financial services, "the study would involve looking at the potential for development into a commercial or industrial site, as a maintenance facility site potentially used jointly by the county and schools, or maybe one for the Public Utilities."
