York County Chamber of Commerce to host forum for election candidates.

The York County Chamber of Commerce will host a candidates forum open to anyone running in the Nov. 3 election.

The event will be Sept. 24 at 6 p.m. at the Grafton Middle School Auditorium, 405 Grafton Drive in York. It's free and open to the public, with doors opening at 5 p.m.

After brief introductions, candidates will be asked to answer a series of questions submitted by audience members, according to a statement from chamber officials.

Earl Joyner, past president of the York County Chamber of Commerce, will serve as master of ceremonies. Digby Solomon, publisher and chief executive officer of the Daily Press Media Group, will ask the submitted questions.

Thirteen candidates had signed up when chamber officials released a list of participants.

They are:

•York County Board of Supervisors District 3 candidates Don Phillips (D) and W. Chad Green (R); and District 4 candidates Jeff Wassmer (R) and Robert S. Holloway (I).

•York County School Board District 3 challenger Julie Reichle and District 4 challenger G. Stephen Roane Jr.

•York Clerk of Circuit Court candidates incumbent Kristen N. Nelson (R) and challenger Stacy C. White (I).

Also registered to participate were state House District 96 incumbent Brenda L. Pogge (R) and challenger Brandon C. Waltrip (I), Senate District 3 challenger Hugo Reyes (D), Senate District 1 challenger Mark R. Matney (R) and House of Delegates District 91 unopposed incumbent Gordon C. Helsel Jr. (R).
