Shelter Picks: Stella

By Sammy Johnson

When I first met Stella, she wouldn't stop licking my face. She's so friendly and loving. Stella was in her own home before, where she did well with children and cats and was house-trained. It wasn't her fault that she had to leave that home and ended up in a shelter. Stella is a 3-year-old mixed breed who has a very cool variety of black, white, and brown colors all over her body. For example, she has black freckled spots on her back and a black section around the top of her tail that looks just like a big band. Stella is very energetic, so the people who adopt her would probably need to take her on walks and to parks as much as they could. Stella would make a perfect fit for an active family, because she would love to go on many adventures in life.

For information on Stella and other animals at Animal Aid, call (757) 865-0511, go to www.animalaid-va.org, or visit the shelter at 80 Butler Farm Rd. in Hampton.
