The Hampton Roads Horticultural Society’s February meeting will focus on camellias, a spokeswoman said.
“Camellia Work Shop: How to Grow Them and Show Them” will be presented by the Virginia Camellia Society and the horticultural society, said Evelyn Parker. The educational “hand-on” program will show participants the how-to of camellias, including planting, maintaining and pruning in addition to air layering and showing camellias flowers.
The program is free and open to the public. Plants will be available for sale, 1-gallon plants for $15 and 3-gallon plants for $25, Parker said.
The horticultural society meets on Thursday, Feb. 13 at the Women's Club of Newport News, 461 J. Clyde Morris Blvd. at 7 p.m.
