HILDA M. PEREZ, ORLANDO SENTINEL
December 27, 2002
One of the best places to eat in Southwest Florida in our Best of Florida Travel series. Yoder's (Sarasota; yodersrestaurant.com; 941-955-7771).
Three generations of the Yoder family are behind this Amish restaurant, which opened in 1975 and is now a Sarasota institution. Fill up on hearty fare, including smoked ham, meatloaf and Amish potato cakes.
Amanda Yoder, who started the restaurant with her husband, once baked the pies that made it famous. Today her daughter-in-law is head baker. Peanut butter cream pie, a long-time favorite, is among the 25 varieties.
