One of the ways Disney has been able to stretch its entertainment options at the theme parks has been the interactive adventure games, and there's a new pirate-themed one set to debut this summer at the Magic Kingdom.
Disney released a video detailing the game, which will join the more expansive Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom adventure game that was introduced in January 2012.
The new game is called Pirates of the Caribbean: Treasures of the Seven Seas, and it offers up five different pirate raids, each with its own map. Players get a "magic talisman" that when held up to various installations will move them along their adventure.
Examples of the installations include a cannon that blasts open a treasure chest, a giant oyster that opens up to reveal a pearl and a talking parrot.
While Sorcerers sends players all over Magic Kingdom, this new pirate adventure game will be based solely in Adventureland.
Disney also has an interactive adventure game at Epcot. Disney Phineas and Ferb: Agent P's World Showcase Adventure opened in 2012 replacing a Kim Possible game that had debuted in 2009. Interactive adventure games have also spilled over to the cruise lines with the notable Muppets-themed mystery adventure on the new Disney Fantasy.
