More than a million riders have experienced Transformers: The Ride -- 3D since it opened June 20, Universal Studios announced Thursday. It reached the milestone in just over a month, the theme park says.
That pace could appear to top that of the initial surge for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal's Islands of Adventure. In mid-August 2010, Universal said Forbidden Journey had passed the million mark, but it did not specify when that happened. The attraction had opened June 18, 2010.
On July 15, 2008, Universal said that the Simpsons Ride had welcomed its millionth customer. That ride on May 15, 2008, and at the time, Universal said that was the fastest any of its attractions had ever reached the million mark.
Transformers is a high-energy, three-dimension simulation of urban warfare between the Autobots and Decepticons. Orlando's version is the third incarnation of the attraction, following similar rides at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Singapore.
