Williamsburg artists Carlton S. Abbott, Lynn Hosegood and Joseph Heyman recently won awards in the current Virginia Artists 2013 Juried Exhibition at the Charles H. Taylor Arts Center in Hampton. The awards were selected by juror, Lise C.Swensson, executive director of the Hickory Museum of Art. She selected 121 art works in all media by 105 artists, chosen from 761 entries by 274 artists from across Virginia.

Carlton Abbott’s work, “Sonoma” won the Award of Excellence for $750. Hosegood’s “Mijas Market, Spain in watercolor took a $250 Award of Distinction. Joseph Heyman received Honorable Mention for his photograph, “Parenting.”
