Pictures: Fossil hunting at York River State Park
About a dozen people turned out on a mild afternoon Saturday to hunt fossils at York River State Park in James City County. Normally taking fossils from York River is forbidden, but rangers allow each sanctioned walk attendee to collect one to take home. The park offers the free walks twice monthly, on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. Find more information at www.dcr.virginia.gov/state-parks/york-river.shtml.
