Warhill High School teacher advances to semifinal round on 'Jeopardy!'

Warhill High School English and creative writing teacher Nicole Throckmorton advanced into the Teachers Tournament’s semifinal round on the syndicated, pre-recorded game show “Jeopardy!”

She took second place among three players in one of the first-round games, which aired throughout the week (Throckmorton’s was shown Tuesday).

The five winners advanced to next week’s shows, as did the four highest-scoring non-winners. With $5,000, Throckmorton placed fourth among the week’s 10 non-winners to become a wild-card semifinalist.

Throckmorton, 42, said her semifinal will be shown Monday, with WVEC in Hampton Roads and WRIC in Richmond carrying it at 7:30 p.m.
