The Williamsburg area will welcome another weekend music festival this September.

Presented by CultureFix, “The Big Bluesy,” brings two days of blues music to Jamestown Beach Event Park on Sept. 17 and 18.

Hampton Roads-based bluesman Bobby “BlackHat” Walters will host the festival. Walters and his band, finalists at this year’s International Blues Challenge, also join the festival’s long lineup of bands from Virginia Beach to Richmond.

The lineup includes Anthony Rosano and The Conqueroos, Herbie D and the Dangermen, Billy Joe Trio, In Layman Terms, Andrew Ballantyne, The Groove Cats, Roosterfoot, The Bush League, Slam Allen and more.

CultureFix director Steve Rose said the idea was inspired by the success of the Saturday blues event at Winter Blues Jazz Fest in January.

Bands will perform on two stages, a main and a secondary stage, from 11 a.m.-10:30 p.m. on Sept. 17 and 12-7 p.m., Sept. 18.

“There’ll be live music from the minute the event starts at 11 o’clock on Saturday, all the way through,” Rose said. “There’ll be nonstop music. There’ll be no breaks.”

Tickets and VIP packages go on sale Friday, July 15. For more information, visit culture-fix.org.
