Kingsmill Resort is combating the winter blues with laughs at its second annual comedy show.
“We call it the second annual because we hope to keep doing this,” said, Rich Keurajian, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Kingsmill.
The lineup features comedians, who have made guest appearances on shows like “The Tonight Show”, “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” and “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”
Comedians Tony Deyo, Julie Scoggins, Pete Lee, Louis Ramey and Rocky Laporte will entertain a mixture of guests and Kingsmill residents at the sold-out comedy show, which will run from 8 p.m. to 10:15 p.m on Jan. 27 and Jan 28.
Laporte, who has been on “Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and “Godfather’s of Comedy” will headline Saturday’s show.
Sid Davis, who made his debut on the Bob and Tom Radio Show, will serve as the master of ceremonies for the comedy show.
“We had an opportunity to review the comedians in advance and see how they matched up with our audience. We think we have a good cast,” Keurajian said.
Guests can also expect “clean comedy.”
“Having (clean comedy) is really important to us,” Keurajian said. “We want to make sure the show is not offensive to anybody.”
Keurajian said he anticipates this year to be another success.
“Last year’s date was over Valentine’s Day weekend and we didn’t know if this comedy show could stand on its own but the show was so well received that we thought it could be its own thing,” Keurajian said.
Looking beyond, hel has its eyes on a third annual show.
“We’re already talking about planning next year. We think that this weekend right before the end of January is good for us. We are excited to keep it going and make it a third annual next year,” Keurajian said.
