The Historic Virginia Land Conservancy’s fifth annual Creekside Conservancy Celebration combines wining, dining, live music and the chance to preserve the area’s natural beauty.

The event moves to the the Williamsburg Winery for the first time Sunday.

“I think we all share in the passion of our mission,” said Patrice Sadler, the conservancy’s director.

The nonprofit organization works to protect and preserve land in the James, York and Rappahannock river watersheds.

Sadler said the event marks the perfect opportunity to showcase the group’s accomplishments, such as a recent conservation easement spanning 115 acres of Level Green Farm in Powhatan County.

The southern comfort-style buffet menu includes buttermilk fried chicken, collard greens, sweet potato biscuits and more paired with Williamsburg Winery libations — made from grapes grown on land conserved by the group.

The Cabot-Wade Band will perform acoustic rock, Motown and more during the celebration

“I love the fact that they’re looking out at the future,” said Cabot Wade, half of the musical duo. “I hope we will raise billions of dollars, for one thing. No sense in setting your goals too low.”
