The Williamsburg Farmers Market has a winner.

The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ “Farm. Fresh. Pledge.” contest offers faithful farmers market attendees the chance to win a gift basket filled with Virginia-grown goodies.

The July winner attends the Williamsburg Farmers Market, according to a release from the department, and will receive a $200 Virginia Grown/Virginia’s Finest gift basket and a $100 gift certificate from the Bed and Breakfast Association of Virginia.

Here’s how “Farm. Fresh. Pledge.” works.

From June through September, interested shoppers can pick up a pledge card, available at the local market. They get one punch for every $10 or more spent at the market. Fourteen punches equals a completed card, and the completed card can be entered into the contest.

One winner is selected each month in a random drawing.

This month’s winner receives a bonus basket – gift baskets are usually worth $100 – to be handed out at 10 a.m. Saturday at the market in Merchants Square.

Remaining drawing dates are Sept. 9 and Oct. 8.
