Hampton Roads’ biggest fundraising effort is back for more. Give Local 757, the annual 24-hour fundraising blitz, returns Tuesday for a fifth year of helping area nonprofits find much needed support.

The Peninsula Community Foundation coordinates the effort, which has raised $1.8 million for more than 350 nonprofits since its inception in 2014.

The 2017 drive saw donations top $660,000. Ending the day with almost $25,000 raised, Williamsburg’s Heritage Humane Society received more money than any other participating Hampton Roads organization.

The foundation hopes to cross the $1 million mark with the latest round.

Williamsburg area organizations participating Tuesday include the Hospice House, the Community Alliance for the Performing Arts Fund, Elliot’s Song, the Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra and the humane society.

Give Local 757 runs midnight to 11:59 p.m. Tuesday. To donate, visit givelocal757.org. Minimum donation is $10. For more information, call 327-0862.
