“The New Adventures of Tom Sawyer”: The Impressions Theatre presents an adventure featuring Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. This time, the duo unite in an attempt to build a monument so they can be remembered forever. 11 a.m. Thursday at the Williamsburg Regional Library and 2 p.m. on Thursday at the James City County Library. George Washington’s Inauguration: Tony Williams, author of “America’s Beginnings,” will discuss the 1789 inauguration of George Washington, how it differs from modern variations and the precedents America’s first President set. 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg’s Hennage Auditorium. Sunset Ride with Williamsburg Area Bicyclists: The ride offers a chance to unwind and enjoy the sunset over the Chickahominy River. Several distance and speed options are available. Jonathan Austin’s Juggling Show: Come prepared to laugh and be amazed at Jonathan Austin’s antics. Look on as he performs magic and pedals on his unicycle, juggling balls, rings, rubber chickens and more. 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Williamsburg Regional Library and 1 p.m. Wednesday at the James City County Library. Free.

The Comedy Club Williamsburg Presents Tim Young: Young has appeared on Comedy Central, NBC and MTV, and he’s traveling from New York City for a Williamsburg stand up routine. 8 p.m. Saturday at at the DoubleTree by Hilton, 50 Kingsmill Road. And the Home of the Brave: In honor of “The Star Spangled Banner,” Gabe Stone, Daniel Omer and Mark Nixon present a performance of American patriotic music on modern and early brass instruments. 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg’s Hennage Auditorium. Additional $3-5 ticket required in addition to museum admission.

2nd Sundays Williamsburg: The recurring event celebrates unique art and local artists — and music — throughout the streets surrounding Colonial Williamsburg. 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, 423 Prince George St. Free.

Jamestown Jams: James City County’s Jamestown Beach concert series returns under a new name, kicking off with a set of ’70s tributes from Affirmative Groove. 5:30-8:30 p.m. Friday at Jamestown Beach Event Park, 2205 Jamestown Road. Free.

Williamsburg Players Present “Next to Normal”: Exploring how the mom’s 16 year battle with manic depression affects each character, Next to Normal’s energetic pop score presents the family’s story with empathy and heart, taking the audience on a powerful emotional journey through riveting dramatic material and an impressive array of vocal performances. 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday at the Williamsburg Players Theatre, 200 Hubbard Lane. Chase Bryant: Bryant is an accomplished recording artist, guitarist and songwriter, bringing his country twang to Williamsburg as a part of Busch Gardens’ Summer Nights Concert Series. 8:15 p.m. Saturday at Busch Gardens.
