Blast from the Past: Artillery in the War of Independence: The American Revolution Museum explores the 1781 siege at Yorktown, the final victory of the Revolution, through interactive experiences and artifact displays. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, 200 Water St. $15 for adults, $7.50 for children 6-12.

Fear Not: Understanding Snakes: Biologist Tim Christensen explores the biology and importance of snakes as part of the Williamsburg Botanical Garden’s ongoing educational series. 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday at Freedom Park Interpretive Center, 5537 Centerville Road. Captain Brewster’s Kids: Join Captain Edward Brewster and train to defend the colony Jamestown in this family friendly adventure. Children 6 and older. Noon Friday at Historic Jamestowne. $14 for adults, free for children 15 and younger.

Salvation Army benefit concert: Gospel musician Lisa Reid Williamson performs an inspirational concert in support of the nonprofit organization. 3 p.m. Saturday at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 4897 Longhill Road. Free with donations encouraged.

Larsen’s Amazing World of Reptile: Reptile experts Scott and Kim Larsen share stories, interesting facts and trivia questions about their array of lizards, frogs, turtles and snakes.
