Rhythms on the Riverwalk: Yorktown’s fall concert series commences with a performance by Nashville Nights. 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday at Riverwalk Landing. Free.

Bird Walk at Lake Matoaka: Explore the heart of Williamsburg along Lake Matoaka and the woods near William and Mary. 8-10 a.m. Saturday at Lake Matoaka. Free.

Master gardener program: Dr. Shawn Dash, entomologist at Hampton University, will present a program on the world of insects. 10 a.m. Thursday at Williamsburg Regional Library. Free.

Paws at the River: The annual Yorktown Market Days tradition returns to support animal rescue organizations. Bring your dogs, cats, birds and lizards. 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at Riverwalk Landing. Free.

‘Anglo-Indian Relations in the Seventeenth Century:’ Explore the cultural expectations and diplomatic approach of the Algonquin people confronting English colonization. 7 p.m. Thursday at Jamestown Settlement. $17 for adults, $8 for kids 6-12, free for those under 6.

WCAC shows: The Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center debuts its final members co-op show of the year alongside “Camera to Brush,” where member artists interpreted the pictures of member photographers. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at 110 Westover Ave. Free.

2018 Toanimals Car Show: The James City-Bruton Volunteer Fire Department event features local cars and motorcycles, fire equipment, food, wine and more. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Williamsburg Pottery, 6800 Richmond Road. Free admission.

‘Shakespeare in Love:’ The Williamsburg Players present a fictionalized account of William Shakespeare writing “Romeo and Juliet” and falling in love during the process. 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. Saturday at the James-York Playhouse, 200 Hubbard Lane. Shrimp Feast 2018: The Kiwanis Club of Williamsburg event returns for its 39th year of food, beer, music, cornhole and raffles. Proceeds support local charities. 4-7 p.m. Saturday at the Jamestown 4-H Educational Center, 3751 4-H Club Road. $35 in advance, $40 at the door, $15 for children; tickets available at williamsburgkiwanis.org.
