A train arrived at the historic Norge Depot last December, for the first time in 46 years.
Donated to the Norge Depot Association, the 1925 Georgia Railroad caboose will find new life as a fixture of the depot, which has operated as a museum since 2013.
Before that can happen, though, it must be restored.
The association will host an Old Virginia pork and sweet potato dinner May 14, and proceeds will benefit the caboose’s restoration.
Along with pork loin and candied yams, the menu includes string beans, apple sauce and a dinner roll. A bake sale will offer individual servings of cheesecakes, pound cakes, apple pies and more.
