As Opera in Williamsburg prepares to bring “The Barber of Seville” to life at the Kimball Theatre, it’s once again collaborating with the Williamsburg Art Gallery for a preview reception.
It’s an opportunity for the community to meet the opera’s creative team and experience a taste of the performers’ vocals.
“The quality is just unbelievable,” said gallery owner Gulay Berryman, adding that the gallery provides good acoustics for the operatic vocals.
Berryman first saw the opera perform five years ago, excited to see such an opportunity often reserved for Richmond or the Ferguson Center.
“I was really happy with what I heard,” she said. “We’re trying to support it. They bring high-quality singers to Williamsburg.”
The opera’s latest performance features returning performers such as Suchan Kim alongside new faces like Octavio Cardenas.
“It’s one of my favorites,” Berryman said. “It’s hilarious.”
