Bacon Street Youth and Family Services plans to address the issue of suicide with a film screening at Regal New Town Stadium Wednesday.

“Suicide: The Ripple Effect” tells the story of Kevin Hines, who attempted suicide by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge at 19 years old. Hines has used his time since to help others facing similar struggles to find recovery and hope.

As a part of Bacon Street’s mission to help young people and families battling substance abuse, the organization aims to use the documentary screening to raise awareness and encourage discussion regarding suicide and mental health issues. A Q&A format will follow the screening.

The film screens 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Regal New Town Stadium, 4911 Courthouse St. Tickets are $13.45 including a convenience fee, available at bit.ly/2HgoIHI. For more information, call 253-0111.
