2016 Holly Ball Queen Crowned

Miss Macy Stuart Swift Crowned Queen of the Holly Realm

Miss Macy Stuart Swift of Reedville, Virginia, was crowned Queen of the Holly Realm on Friday evening, December 30, 2016, at Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club in Kilmarnock, Virginia. Miss Swift was chosen to serve as queen at the 121st Holly Ball, the Tidewater Foundation's fundraising arm. Eighteen Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula area debutantes were presented at this year's annual Holly Ball.

Congressman Rob Wittman of Montross provided an eloquent oration for the gala event and crowned Miss Swift with the traditional crown worn by former queens. Miss Swift succeeds reigning Queen Miss Susan Elizabeth Haynie of Reedville, Virginia, daughter of Mr. John Willard Haynie, Jr., of Reedville and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Chilton Kelley of Kilmarnock.

Miss Swift is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Keith Swift of Reedville. She was presented by her father Mr. Swift, and escorted by Mr. Kyle Shaun McNamee. Miss Swift chose as her attendants, Miss Elizabeth Baylor Ellis, daughter of Mrs. Keren Slack Ellis of Tappahannock and Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Baird Ellis, Jr. of Champlain, and Miss Korty Beynton Swift, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Scott Swift of Reedville. Miss Ellis was presented by her father and escorted by Mr. Noah Christopher Newman. Miss Swift was presented by her father and escorted by Mr. William Andrew Smith.

Mr. Richard Aubrey Farmar III served as Master of Ceremonies for the event.

The proceeds from the Holly Ball are dispersed by the Tidewater Foundation to a variety of charitable organizations, supporting education and youth in the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula. During the last decade, the Tidewater Foundation, via its philanthropic and stewardship initiatives, has contributed approximately a quarter of a million dollars to local entities. In early 2016, the Tidewater Foundation made contributions to a variety of worthy causes, made possible by the proceeds of the 120th Holly Ball in 2015.
