The 20th Annual Yorktown Lighted Boat Parade will be held December 3rd, 7 pm. This event is part of the weekend of events in Historic Yorktown of" Yorktown Celebrates Christmas." Festively lit boats will compete for the coveted "Best in Show" pennant on the historic waterfront for spectators' and sponsors' delight. The evening is magnificent with the Christmas sounds and decorations, the Fifes and Drums Corp of York Town performing, holiday tune performed by the Yorktown Chorale, the waterfront bonfire site with Boy Scout Troop 123 serving complimentary cider while the spectacular floating parade of boats light up the waterfront for both Yorktown and Gloucester beaches. There is still time for boaters to sign up for the event to be in the parade. Registration forms are available at Wormley Creek Marina, online at www.yorkcounty.gov/cyc or call 890-4970. All registered boaters will receive a YLBP vessel pennant and Captain's bag. This event is free to the public. Parking is available at the York-Poquoson Courthouse and the Administration Building with Trolley service available from 5-9 pm to take spectators to the waterfront.
