American Friends of Lafayette donate books to LHS Media Center

Lafayette High School Principal Anita Swinton and Media Specialists Amy Wallisch and Monica Schauffler welcomed the American Friends of Lafayette (AFL) to the Williamsburg area high school to celebrate the donation of 17 books to the school Media Center.

The Marquis de Lafayette (portrayed by Mark Schneider) paid a surprise visit to the school speaking to Mr. Andre's history class and Ms. Collin's French class. Members of LHS Fifes and Drums led the procession to the auditorium.

Chuck Schwam, AFL officer and Event Coordinator spearheaded the AFL annual book project by encouraging well known authors on the topic of the Marquis de Lafayette to donate their books to the namesake Lafayette High School Library.

The AFL annual book project seeks to support and give back to local communities to encourage and preserve the study of American and French alliances and friendship throughout history.
