Angel of Mercy Clinic and James City Lions explore options for working together to combat diabetes

Jeff Black (left) Executive Director of Angels of Mercy (AOM) Clinic and Mike Jaskowiak of the James City Lions Club had several meetings this week to discuss how the two organizations can work together in performing diabetes assessments and screenings. These discussions were especially meaningful because November 14th was World Diabetes Day. AOM Clinic is looking to expand its healthcare outreach to include diabetes examinations for the less fortunate in the Greater Williamsburg community. Lions support local and large-scale global health programs to prevent and control diabetes, a growing world epidemic, and diabetic retinopathy, the leading cause of blindness in middle-aged adults.
