Benny at the Barre: a Dancing with the Williamsburg Stars Wine Night

January 4 2017- Benny at the Barre, a Dancing with the Williamsburg Stars Wine Event, offers you the chance to meet with Benny and Amy, take a donation only pure barre class, and take a sneak peak at their routine on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 7:00pm.

Dancing with the Williamsburg Stars is collaborative fundraiser benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Virginia Peninsula and Literacy for Life at the Rita Welsh Adult Learning Center. Our event will raise money by providing a Donation Only Pure Barre class for up to 25 clients.

One of the local stars who has accepted the challenge to train with a professional dancer and compete in front of a live audience and panel of judges is Benny Zhang, serving on his first term of Williamsburg City
Council. This year, he is training with Co-Owner of Pure Barre Williamsburg, VA, Amy Perkinson. Since November, they have been rehearsing the Waltz and Swing Dancing to prepare for the show and competition.

"As two of the youngest members, we are using that to our advantage", says Amy Perkinson, who participated last year with WISC General Manager, Chris Scrofani. "Dancing with the Williamsburg Stars is always an honor to be part of, as well as a lot of fun, getting people to dance in front of an audience for the very first time for a great cause," says Ms. Perkinson.

Not only does the couple want to win the dance competition, but Benny has a a competitive side to him as well to win the fundraising component of Dancing with the Williamsburg Stars. Last year in 2016, the organization surpassed any previous year of fundraising efforts.

The Pure Barre class begins at 7:00pm, followed by complimentary wine. To register for this donation class, please email
