DONK'S SEARCHING FOR NEW TALENT - TO HOST ONLY OPEN MIKE TALENT SEARCH OF 2015 ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12TH (RESCHEDULED FROM JULY 18TH)

On Saturday, September 12th, Donk's Theater, Virginia's Li'l Ole Opry, will host the only open-mike Talent Search of the 2015 season. Reschedule from July 18th of this year because of a power outage which forced cancellation of the show that night, the talent search will return to the original format of the talent search nights. Contest will be judged by qualified and professional musicians/singers and the First Place Winners will receive a tropy and a cash prize. Second and third place winners will receive smaller cash prizes. The winners will be announced the night of the show. The management at Donk's reserves the right to invite any contestant back to perform. On Talent Search nights, the microphones are open to talent of all ages and spotlight talent hopefuls in the country music arena who wish to compete with a live band. Contestants may accompany themselves with an instrument or they may use the Shades of Country band for their presentation. Because of space and time limitations, the competition does not include bands. Each person wishing to be a contestant must pick a well-known country song that the band knows or pick a song from the list of possible songs on the donk's website, "donkstheater.com". After meeting with the band, the song will be presented to the audience and the judges. Contestants musts report to Donk's Theater between 6 and 7 PM on the night of the show (Aug 12th), to register. Price of admission is the registration fee. After registering, each contestant will have a few minutes with the musicians to make sure the song is presented in the right key and with the right arrangement.

The show on August 12th will feature The Opry Regulars, Uncle Jimmy Wickham and the Shades of Country.
