Three members of the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Greater Virginia Peninsula presented a program to the Kiwanis Club of Colonial Capital at a recent breakfast meeting of the club. The club has been a donor to Big Brothers and Big Sisters for a number of years. Big Brothers and Big Sisters have been very successful in helping children in our community by providing mentoring from a responsible adult to boys and girls who are in troubled families. Last year they served 186 young people. The program is evidence based and progress is measured in a way that assures success. Pictured above (from left) are Kiwanis Club member Tom Higgins, Joe Ford, Board President of Big Brothers, Ayanna King, Chief Executive Officer and Julie Dudley who is the Development Director and Kiwanis Club President Larry Shoberg.
