To celebrate its 3rd Black History Sunday, Williamsburg Baptist Church invited the Rev. Jan Brown, Deacon of Burton Parish Church, to preach. Rev. Brown is also founder and executive director of SpiritWorks Foundation Center for the Soul, an addiction recovery community. Vicki Robbins, a local music teacher, provided special music in worship, including "Strange Fruit" based on a poem about lynching. She also directed the WBC choir in "Freedom is Coming", a South African song from that nation's apartheid era. Shown (l-r) are the Rev. Brown, WBC senior pastor Daniel Willson, and Ms. Robbins.
