Boy Scouts celebrate Andy's Earth Day

In beautiful weather and with dogwood and redbud trees in bloom, Williamsburg Boy Scout Troop 103 celebrated their 14th Andy's Earth Day on April 8, at 18th century Church on the Main archaeological park. This year, 44 scouts and adult leaders contributed over 250 hours to the conservation of the site, clearing brush, resurfacing trails, mulching plantings, removing litter, and planting bayberries. Moreover, in the scouting tradition of nature and history stewardship, 18 merit badges were earned in Geology and American Heritage from instruction by Gerald Johnson and Alain Outlaw.
