Chase Canova, son of Gene and Carol Canova and grandson of Mary Della Ratta, recently earned his Eagle Scout rank which was celebrated during his Court of Honor ceremony at the Williamsburg United Methodist Church, the sponsor for his Boy Scout Troop 103. Will Goggins, an Eagle Scout and previous Youth Leader for St. Bede Catholic Church and now a realtor for Long and Foster, was the featured speaker. Chase's service project was overseeing the restoration of Walsingham Academy's Prayer Garden where his week-long project included trimming trees and hedges, cleaning beds, cleaning and repainting a fountain, sanding and oiling four wooden benches, cleaning and resetting memorial stones, and bringing in and placing mulch in the beds and stones on the path. He is very thankful for those who supported his project with much valuable help from Troop 103 Scout volunteers and their parents and donations and discounts from Luck Stone, Cloverwood Builders, Home Depot, Lowes, and friends and family. Chase is a senior at Walsingham Academy and is attending college in the fall.
