Chesapeake Bank Invests in Local Scholarships through Williamsburg Community Foundation

Williamsburg Community Foundation is pleased to announce that Chesapeake Bank has established a new scholarship with the Williamsburg-James City County Scholarship Fund. The WJCC Scholarship Fund provides scholarships for students graduating from Jamestown, Lafayette, and Warhill High Schools. This is a community-wide effort to recognize the accomplishments of local students as they graduate from high school and support their further educational achievements. In June 2016, 46 scholarships valued at $55,925 were awarded to local students. Funds raised to support scholarship come from individuals, families, high school parent-teacher associations, civic groups and local businesses like Chesapeake Bank.

Students interested in applying for a scholarship can visit and apply online. The application will be available in mid-February. Deadline to apply is March 19, 2017. Scholarships are awarded in consideration of these factors: curriculum difficulty, class rank, extra-curricular activities, application essay, and financial need.
