Captain David Hardin, Chief Sheriff's Deputy, recently spoke to the Kiwanis Club of Colonial Capital. He described the duties of the sheriff's office, which include security at the courthouse, serving papers and jury summons to citizens, issuing firearm carry permits and managing prisoners to and from the jail for appearances in court.
Captain Hardin has had a 27-year career in law enforcement and, in 2012, completed the rigorous 10-week FBI National Academy course for United States law enforcement. For Captain Hardin to be accepted for this course he had to be nominated and approved by all local, state and federal agencies. No small achievement!
