It is Holly Season! The VA Chapter of the Holly Society of America will meet at Kingsmill in Williamsburg on Saturday December 9. The morning program features a presentation by Libbey Oliver who was manager of the Williamsburg Farmers Market and Marion Baker who was a cut flower and Christmas decoration vendor. They will show the mechanics for making long lasting decorations featuring hollies, other fresh greens and fruit. Their program will give a history of the decorations begun in 1935 that decorate and interpret the exhibition buildings of Colonial Williamsburg. Oliver will have her book Williamsburg Christmas available to sign and sell. Landscaper and plantsman George McClellan will auction hard to find hollies and other shrubs for the garden. The meeting will conclude with a tour of the Colonial Williamsburg Christmas decorations. Registration deadline is December 1. For a form with program and fee details contact J.
