Classical Concert by Local Artist

Acclaimed regional pianist Dave Robbins will perform in concert on Sunday, October 15, at 4:30 p.m. at the Williamsburg Unitarian Universalists, 3051 Ironbound Road in Williamsburg. His featured work will be Beethoven's Diabelli Variations, considered by musicologists to be among the greatest of all piano works. It is Beethoven's testament to the grand variation form used by other classical composers. Dave graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music and is pursuing his PhD in Arts Education. He is the pianist for the Williamsburg Unitarian Universalists congregation and regularly performs with regional groups, including the Virginia Symphony Orchestra and Capitol Opera Richmond. Dave is also affiliated with Classical Revolution RVA-a collective of passionate musicians whose goal is to integrate classical music into Richmond's vibrant music scene by taking this universal art form into local restaurants, cafes and galleries. Tickets available at the door: Adults $15, Students $10, under 12, free. For information, call 757-259-9484.
