Clean-up at historic cemetery

Volunteers from Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Norge, turned out on Saturday, April 23 to remove debris, fallen trees, and foliage from the church's oldest cemetery on Riverview Road, Williamsburg. The cemetery was established by the first Scandinavian residents that founded not only the church, but also the Norge community in the late 1890s and early 1900s. Participating in the clean-up were Joanne Weber, Rudy Sheets, Roger Picard, Gloria and David Stratton, Chris Wilkins, Jennifer Nickols, Zachary Miller, Neal Miller (Cemetery Committee chair) and Pastor James P. Nickols. Our Saviour's owns three cemeteries: one behind Our Saviour's, and Bethany Cemetery next to the Williamsburg Mennonite Church, and the historic cemetery on Riverview Road.
