COLONIAL CAPITAL KIWANIS CLUB GETS READY FOR HOLIDAY GIVING

Starting soon, the Kiwanis Club of Colonial Capital will begin its yearly drive to raise money to provide local needy children with toys, clothing or other necessities at Christmas. Members, wearing their distinctive yellow hats, and supported by a sign board, will stand outside local stores such as Walmart, Belk, Panera and Farm Fresh to solicit donations. All money raised by this project, between now and the beginning of December, will go directly to provide gifts to approximately 350 local area children.
On December 9, beginning at 8:00am, parents or guardians, together with Kiwanis Club members will make their selections at Walmart on Rochambeau. Walmart has been a supporter of this program for a number of years, and the store allows the Kiwanis to set up special welcome desks and dedicated cashier lines for the needy families for this one day event.
