Greg Grootendorst, Chief Economist for the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission, recently presented a program on the Hampton Roads economy to the Kiwanis Club of Colonial Capital. He made the point that the economy and unemployment in the area is improving but is still lagging both the national trend and the state trend but income per capita is better than the state average. The future is difficult to predict, but is expected to be relatively flat. Pictured above are Club member Jack Haldeman, Grootendorst and Club President, Larry Shoberg.
