COLONIAL INTERPRETER AWARDED DAR MEDAL

The Williamsburg Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution welcomed Joyce Henry, Head Coachman and Interpreter, Colonial Williamsburg Foundation to their February 2 meeting held at the Colonial Heritage Country Club. The Daughters presented Ms.Henry with the Women in America History Award Medal for her outstanding research and portrayal titled "The Uncommon Soldier", the story of Anna Maria Lane, a young woman disguised as a soldier fighting alongside her husband during the Revolutionary War. Henry specializes in the development of civilian and military horse related programs and has acted as instructor and technical advisor for 19th century artillery drill movies and documentaries.
