Grant Opportunities from the Williamsburg Community Foundation - Spring 2018
Community Endowment Grants of up to $5,000 will be made by the Williamsburg Community Foundation in its Spring 2018 Grant Round. The Foundation is interested in receiving applications from organizations that support a broad range of community enrichment opportunities and respond to changing community needs. We have reframed our grant priorities to better reflect how our grant investments impact the community through five specific areas of interest: Arts & Culture, Children & Young Adults, Environment & Conservation, Health & Community Wellness, and Senior Services.
The deadline to submit your grant proposal online is January 17, 2018 at noon.
Community Endowment Grants will:
• Support a diverse range of philanthropic purposes including the arts, civic affairs, community development, conservation, cultural activities, education, historic preservation, social services and other fields that benefit citizens in its service area, which encompasses Williamsburg, James City County and York County.
• Give special attention to projects that have a broad community benefit, that will provide enrichment or enhancement to the lives of residents and/or that demonstrate the potential benefit of an innovative program to the community at-large.
Grant guidelines and application materials may be found at www.WilliamsburgCommunityFoundation.org/apply-for-a-grant-2/. Generally, an organization will receive only one grant in a year. For more information, contact the foundation office at 757-259-1660 or email@example.com.
Established in 1999, the Williamsburg Community Foundation is a collection of gifts from generous local citizens, mostly invested in long-term endowment funds, which will benefit the community forever. Each fund provides grant-making dollars for community needs. Over the past 18 years, the Foundation has distributed $5.7 million for grants and scholarships combined.
The Foundation serves as a philanthropic center with the mission of connecting people who care with causes that matter forever. Local residents can make a contribution to the Foundation's Community Endowment, and trust that their gift will be combined with others, invested wisely, and continually generate income over time that will be a source of support for local nonprofits in the long-term. The Foundation is governed by a board of trustees who are members of the Williamsburg community, and grants are made through a competitive process that responds to the changing needs of our area.
