Creative Writing Classes

Registration is now open for more than 75 creative writing classes and seminars at The Muse Writers Center this fall.

Offerings include beginning to advanced creative writing classes in poetry, fiction, nonfiction, memoir, food writing, songwriting, journaling, comic book writing, children's book writing, and screenwriting. Other creative offerings include classes designed to jumpstart one's creativity as well as seminars in writers craft, research, and professional development, art for writers, and blogging for writers.

The Muse's teachers are some of Hampton Roads' most accomplished writers and teachers. Courses and seminars are offered every day of the week. While most of the classes are intended for adults, The Muse has an extensive program for kids (ages 7-11) and teens (ages 12-17).

The fall session begins October 1. Pre-registration is required for all courses, and course registrations will not be accepted after the second meeting of a class.

Tuition ranges from $40-$230, depending on the length of the class. And, as it is our policy to never turn a student away who cannot afford a class, we have created a robust tuition assistance program and offer it freely to those who need it.

Classes are held at The Muse Writers Center (2200 Colonial Ave. Suite #3 in Norfolk's Ghent neighborhood (23517)-in the Ghent Market Shops).

Full course descriptions and registration information are available at www.the-muse.org.
