Dr. Eric Crump, who was a professor of systematic and historical theology at Lutheran Theological Seminary, Gettysburg, PA, from 1991-2009, will deliver the sermon on the Apostle Thomas' encounter with the risen Jesus on Sunday, 3 April at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. The service begins at 10:30 a.m.
Dr. Crump was born in Charlottesville, Virginia. In 1975, Crump received his B.A. from St. Olaf College, MN, majoring in philosophical theology, hermeneutics and literary theory, and theoretical physics. He received a M.A. in Divinity in 1977 and a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology in 1989 from The Divinity School of the University of Chicago. Crump's thesis advisors were the theological luminaries of the time: David Tracy, Paul Ricoeur and read by Langdon Gilkey.
