The Williamsburg Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution annually presents youth citizenship awards to rising 8th graders in area public and private schools. Student winners are selected by their teachers based on the criteria of honor, courage, service, patriotism and leadership. This year's award winners include: Mitchell Digges, Providence Classical School; Emma Lobash, Walsingham Academy; Jacob Snowder, Williamsburg Christian Academy; Lawrence Tyler, Berkeley Middle School; Giovani Ceriani, Hornsby Middle School; and Olivia Garrett, Toano Middle School.
The DAR also presents awards to a William and Mary ROTC student and a JROTC student at Charles City High School. William and Mary senior Kyle Frego received this year's ROTC award, and Charles City High School student Kourtney Wyatt received the Junior ROTC award.
