The American Heritage Committee of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) was established to preserve our rich American heritage in the fields of art, sculpture, crafts, drama, literature, fiber arts and music. Kim Defibaugh, a member of the Williamsburg Chapter, received the 2nd Place National Award for her entry in the fiber arts category, wall hanging (hand) quilt. The quilt was created to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War. All branches and color themes of the Armed Services were meticulously depicted as Ms. Defibaugh incorporated the neckties of Vietnam veterans and carefully wove them into the one of a kind quilt creation. The award was presented at the annual DAR Continental Congress in Washington DC and at the September meeting of the Williamsburg Chapter, NSDAR.
